Valerie Van Matherne
Valerie Van Matherne has been practicing law in her native town of Monroe since 1996. Before attending Mississippi College School of Law, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
Valerie became a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization in 2005 and her primary areas of practice include estate planning, successions, trusts, tax and general corporate law. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and has passed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam.
Valerie has served on her Church finance committee and has been a member of the ARCO Human Rights committee for over seven years. She also frequently conducts Continuing Education Seminars for both Lawyers and CPA’s and speaks often to various civic and professional organizations on her areas of legal expertise.
She is the mother of 3 children- Matthew, Van David, & Ally Grace. She enjoys spending most of her free time with them in their various extracurricular & sporting activities. Meet my family
Lauren Pickett Davis
Lauren is a native of Delhi who graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Arts in Government/History in 2001. She received her Juris Doctorate in Civil Law from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans in 2007. Upon graduation, Lauren clerked for the Honorable James Boddie, Jr., of the Fourth Judicial District Court. After her clerkship, Lauren practiced in Shreveport at the Colvin Law Firm where she focused in the areas of successions, municipal law, and general litigation.
In 2012, Lauren, her husband, Heath, and their two daughters, Lily Ann and Paige, returned to Monroe. Lauren is a member of the Krewe of Iris, the oldest and largest of all female Carnival Krewes in New Orleans. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending New Orleans Saints games and watching college football. Meet my family
Karyn Brooks is a native of Rayville and lives in Monroe with her husband of 27 years, Jerome. She is the mother of 2 children- Lauryn, 22 and Holden, 19. Karyn attends the University of Louisiana at Monroe part-time in General Studies with a concentration in Business. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending her son’s baseball games.
